3 reasons for undergoing muscle treatment

Article at a glance

There are many reasons for undergoing Muscle Treatment at Jennifer Carly Aesthetic Medicine but three I’ll highlight today include:

  • Softening your jaw line
  • Reducing pain from clenching your teeth
  • Reducing armpit sweating

You’ll find more details about our various muscle treatments on our Anti-Ageing Treatments page.

Softening your jaw line with Masseter Muscle Treatment

When you want to soften your jaw line, the Masseter Muscle Treatment is a very good choice.

At Jennifer Carly Aesthetic Medicine, we can use the Masseter Muscle Treatment to not only soften the jaw line, but also to contour your lower face to be more slimming, while creating a balanced face shape.

You’ll see the biggest outcomes around six weeks after your initial therapy, but you’ll start noticing results around ten days following the injections.

Masseter Muscle Treatment is a non-surgical procedure that lasts from two to four months, depending on the individual.

Although you may feel a tiny sting when the needle penetrates the muscle, the injections are rather rapid and painless.

Reduced pain from Bruxism (clenching your teeth)

Do you want to reduce the amount of time you spend grinding and clenching your teeth while you sleep?

Through our Masseter Muscle Treatment, we can help you when you’re suffering from bruxism and for whenever you’re suffering from a lot of tension/stress in your jaw.

Grinding your teeth is very unpleasant, and can have other repercussions, but through the careful use of our anti-wrinkle injections into your Masseter Muscle (which is also known as your biting muscle), we can bring you much relief.

In short, these injections relax the muscle, producing muscular paralysis and atrophy. This weakens your bite and makes it difficult for you to grind your teeth, thereby helping reduce tooth sensitivity and wear, and jaw clenching, pains, and tension.

Potential side effects of the Masseter Muscle Treatment

The Masseter Muscle Treatment is one of our most popular treatments at Jennifer Carly Aesthetic Medicine clients and I have seen some  side effects with some clients.

The most common side effects include:

  • Pain or swelling in the area that was treated
  • Some mild bruising
  • Headaches and/or flu-like symptoms
  • Drooling

In very rare circumstances, you may experience a crooked smile.

That said, there are certain clients I recommend against going ahead with this treatment, namely, people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to the cow’s milk protein which is in the anti-wrinkle substance.

Furthermore, I’d advise against this treatment if you have keloidal scarring, a neuromuscular disorder, or a body dysmorphic disorder.

Hyperhidrosis of the armpits (excessive sweating)

We don’t have to put up with armpit hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating anymore!

One of the most successful therapies for axillary sweating is injections of muscle relaxant medication – straight into your armpit.

Most clients handle this treatment well because it is quick and simple with no downtime.

This really is the ideal solution for staying dry, especially when summer months get humid!

On average, treatments tend to last seven months, with residual dryness lasting up to 14 months.
